Certified Financial Planner™
Mary Ahearn is dedicated to helping you plan, protect, and live the retirement of your dreams. Our clients appreciate that she educates them about their options and customizes strategies to their unique goals and needs, that she explains complex financial concepts in simple terms they can understand, and that she helps them avoid the major financial risks in retirement.
Mary’s ability to help clients stems from experience and education. She started her financial career on Wall Street in New York in 1979 and has over four decades of financial planning experience – including 15 years as SVP Retirement Services for a national broker-dealer. Mary has a BA from Western Michigan University, an MA from Columbia University, and the prestigious designation of Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) professional, which requires advanced coursework in a wide range of financial subjects. For more information on the qualifications required to earn the CFP® designation, please visit the CFP® website: cfp.net.
She maintains a vigorous program of ongoing education as a member of Ed Slott’s Master Elite IRA Advisor Group, which continually updates her with high-level training in the latest retirement strategies and tax regulations. Additional information regarding ongoing education and training required for membership in Ed Slott's Master Elite IRA Advisor Group can be found on Ed Slott's website: https://www.irahelp.com
Away from work, Mary enjoys an active life of tennis, duplicate bridge, and traveling. She loves spending time with her children and grandchildren, attending their band and sports activities, and family get-togethers. She enjoys playing in bridge tournaments, and recalls a time when she said, “I’m playing bridge next week-end,” and her husband said, “What city?”
